Week 4: February 22-26

This week as far as I remember, we mainly worked on our practice spreads. I believe we also learned a bit about PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS. Photoshop is SUCH a great program for so many reasons. You can edit photos in a million different ways, by bending the photo, removing the colour, changing the hue, clipping, cropping, painting, drawing, cloning, pixelating, sharpening, brightening, darkening, and selecting! Its nice that I was in a CommTech class before Yearbook, so these terms and activites come very easily to me.

Unfortunately I don't remember much else from this week. Terminology keeps up in my mind.

The term of the day: CVI
CVI=Central Visual Image.

Attached to this week's post is one of the yearbook pages that I completed last semester! Christmas at Korah. This week I also did a lot of NAME HUNTING to finish these spreads.

Week 3: February 15-19th

This week we had a test in Yearbook terminology and using the program InDesign for yearbook layout. I was reminded about certain terminology such as the "Folio" which is the small design at the bottom consistant with each yearbook page displaying the name of the yearbook, and school. Or, the "Gutter" which is the area straight down the MIDDLE of the spread where the page is folded. As far as I know, this was the week when we put a photo into text. I did two, one in black and white, and one in colour; but I placed them both on the same page. I was away the day we did these, but I realised I should probably catch up!

This week I also worked mercilessly on the Seussical The Musical spread for Yearbook class as my practice spread. It is attached to this post as well.

Week 2: February 8-12

This week was a busy week for me! Unfortunately I wasn't busy in CLASS, I was busy with our school musical Seussical The Musical.

For this show, I produced and choreographed, as well as played the Sour Kangaroo.

As producer I promoted the show in every way possible: Posters, Ads, Programmes, T-Shirts, Candy, Pencils, Balloons, Events, and SO MUCH MORE! It was a fantastic experience-- and a busy one.

This was the week of our show, so I was absent every day. We do shows during the days for elementary schools in our city. When I wasn't on stage acting, I was making sure everyone else was ready to go on, as well as helping people review the dances that I made up, or making props last minute.

Attached are a few pictures taken by students in the Yearbook Class, of my performance in Seussical.

Week 1: February 1st-5th

Hello Blogger world!!!

This is the first of a few red posts.. the "Ketchup" posts.

This week was our first week of class. We started learning some design principals on DAY ONE, and even made a mosaic of a favourite photo-- in the programme of Yearbook Class: IN DESIGN. Some people say that InDesign is one of the hardest layout programs to use in a highschool level... those people would be right. This week I also helped some people next to me with figuring out some simple things in InDesign. Attached to this post is my mosaic of the Seussical Cast at the Christmas Concert for our school.

This week was mainly for learning the programme InDesign. We got a couple of handouts on the basics of the programme. More soon!
